How to use Time Entry Issue Panel:
For the user have the Time Entry Issue Panel showing on a issue, they need to be on a group that is in the “Time Entry Issue Panel Groups” tab, or the project that the user is working need to be in the “Time Entry Issue Panel Projects” tab. You can find this configurations on Jira Settings > Apps > Timesheet Configuration > Access;
If the In “Progress Issues jql” on the “User Default Settings menu” is left empty, the time tracker will not start automatically, it will only start if are on the issue and click on the “Start Time” button on the Time Entry Issue Panel;
When you press on the “Start Time” on the Time entry in a Issue, the time tracker starts working;
The time tracker keeps going until you press either the “Start/Pause Work” (on the left) or “Log Work” (on the right) button on the time tracker;
If you press the “Start/Pause Work” the time tracker will stop, and show on the screen the started time of the worklog and how much time it was spent on this worklog, however, this worklog will not be registered until you press the “Save” button on the worklog
If you press the “Log Work” the Time Entry will show the “Log Work Done” page, showing the time spent so far, giving you the option to change its value if you want, the Work Description, in case you need to add a comment about this worklog; the “(more options)” menu, that will expand the options of the menu to show “Date Started” and “Remaining Estimate”; and the “Save” button, to effectively register the worklog;
When the worklog is effectively saved it will show on the Time Entry with an “Edit Worklog” and “Delete Worklog” buttons, like this:
If you press the “Open report page for other options and excel export” button, you will be redirected for the Time Entry report where you will have more options fo configure a report, the option of excel export of this report, and the suggestions to log work done for the issues that you worked on during that period. the suggestions will be the worklogs that are displayed in grey, and they will not show on any other place other than this page, you can also differentiate the suggestions from the rest looking for which buttons each worklog has, the suggestions will have only two buttons: “ Save” and Log Work”;
To stop the suggestions from showing, you can use the “project=null” jql on the “In Progress Issues jql” tab, this will make the suggestions not show on the Time Entry report anymore;
Note: If you press the Start Work when a time tracker is already ongoing, the previous tracker will pause (but not effectively save this worklog), and starts another time tracker. The previous tracker will appear like this:
