Should Time Tracking provider setting be changed?
There is Timereports or Timesheet provided time tracking, which may be selected in Jira Settings - Issues configuration, please see https://confluence.atlassian.com/adminjiracloud/configuring-time-tracking-818578858.html#Configuringtimetracking-Changethetimetrackingprovider also.
It is not required by the app, but there are some features, mainly, in Logging Work dialog provided by the app, which may be useful to be in all places, where it is possible to Log Work done in Jira, see Split Time Spent by Days , Log Work Retrospectively , Restrict Working Hours Per Day .
Should you wish to use the Require Work Description, you will also need to enable the Timesheet provider to effectively use this feature.
